About The Dutch Yarn Barn

The Dutch Yarn Barn is a young dye house and yarn store (since April 2019) that revives the old craft of wool dyeing in an innovative way, housed in a beautiful old workshop on the edge of the Achterhoek region.

TDYB stands for craft and sustainability in handicrafts and dyes only ecological and fair trade natural yarns. The young company develops modern yarns from Dutch sheep wool, and is committed to the revaluation of the authentic character and special qualities of this and other local (bio-) wool.

About the dye process

Nature gives us beautiful colors, inspiring the palette. TDYB dyes with the raw materials: roots, bark and leaf of regional origin. Extracts are produced in-house and the dyeing process takes several days. TDYB uses rainwater, a water source and biogas to reduce its impact on the environment.

Vision: Creating a colourful world and sustainable future with nature’s colours.

Mission: Bringing you vibrantly coloured natural yarns to inspire your creativity

At the Dutch Yarn Barn we care for the planet and its animals and people. That is why we choose to work only with natural yarns that are sustainably and preferably ethically sourced. We care for Dutch heritage yarns, organic yarns and small farm yarns just as much. Their wonderful individual characters deserve to be loved.
